The legal department in the Netherlands is a young and dynamic team which has a strong presence within the company. The legal department currently consists of a Head of Legal, two Legal Counsels and a Jr. Legal Counsel. We are looking for a pro-active, hands-on, pragmatic and result-driven Junior Legal Counsel to strengthen the legal team in the Netherlands. This role is available for a temporary period (one year). A great opportunity to take the step into the world of first class professional commercial real – estate.
As Junior Legal Counsel you will have a very broad role. You will be responsible for all the legal aspects of the commercial real estate portfolio, including investment and divestment, leasing, project development and disputes, with the emphasis on lease law. You have excellent knowledge of commercial law and experience in real estate and lease law.
You will work closely with the teams responsible for the assets (leasing managers, operational managers and shopping center managers) but also with general management, heads of departments and support staff. As Legal Counsel you will be responsible for drafting and reviewing commercial contracts (with the emphasis on leases) and other commercial contracts and legal documents. Your will also be involved in handling and managing claims and disputes, giving day-to-day support to the various departments and managing external lawyers.

Naturally, you are able to anticipate possible risks and long-term consequences.
- Master’s degree in Dutch Law
- About three years’ experience gained in a reputable law firm or as an in house legal counsel
- Knowledge of real estate and lease law
- Experienced in drafting commercial contracts
- Able to manage various topics at the same time with high deadline pressures
- Pragmatic, communicative and act with integrity
- International ‘outlook’
- Team player, service provider mentality
- Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English, both written and verbal.
